Earlier this year, I was asked to be an ambassador to SisterWorks. This is an organisation that supports women who are migrants, asylum seekers and refugees. After meeting with the team and finding out more about the life-changing work they do, I was thrilled to accept this honour.
Due to isolation, language barriers, limited education and lack of technology, these women are one of the most vulnerable groups in our community. To support them, SisterWorks strives to improve their confidence, technology skills and economic outlook. They provide community connections, paid work or help them set up their own business. A great way to empower these women through work.
Once a year they run a 24 hour fundraiser called Giving Day. It’s set to take place this Wednesday 22nd April. Every donation – no matter the size – will go a long way to support SisterWorks. You can make your donation here as well as check out their unique range of jewellery, handmade products and hampers that you can order online.
