Leaving a Legacy

Blog

I started thinking about my definition of leaving a legacy after my niece Lauren shared a Facebook memory recently. It was from years ago and was about her daughter teaching my dad a card trick. Lauren wrote…

“Grace is trying to fool her great grandfather with the card trick I taught her; little does she know he taught me the same trick 30 years ago.”

And Dad being Dad never let Grace know and pretended to be fooled.

Dad’s Legacy

Dad passed away a few years ago and he would have been 92 today but his legacy continues. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve written several blogs about my dad.

We often think legacy is something big and amazing, but I think it is all about the little moments.

Perhaps it comes from words of advice, how you make a person feel or teaching someone something.

Leaving a Legacy

I think the cool thing about leaving a legacy is that most of the time you don’t know if you left one at all. And that can make it even more special.

How could you potentially leave a legacy today?

P.S. Happy Birthday Dad!
